abode conveyancing is a company helping people buying and selling
their house to find a specialist conveyancing solicitor at a very good rate. They have negotiated prices
for solicitors which are far better than the client can receive by contacting the firm direct;
solicitors pay a fee of 50
for each referral. The firms involved use email at every opportunity
instead of traditional mail and use the abode online case tracking system which emails
or sends SMS updates when a change takes place on their file. Clients can also login to check their case progress.
Conveyancing Marketing Services is
an agency which puts members of the public looking for conveyancing services
in touch with a solicitor or licensed conveyancer. The company
has around 60 firms on its panel. Potential clients fill out a questionnaire online
and receive, by email , immediate quotations from CMS on behalf of certain firms on the
panel. They are then contacted by telephone (by CMS) to explain the quote. The site
apparently generates around 500 genuine enquiries a month.
CMS monitor the service through to completion, and can remove firms from the panel if they are not satisfied.
For more details, contact enquiries@cms-uk.co.uk.
MovemeEngland Solicitors,
MovemeScotland Solicitors,
MovemeWales Solicitors and
MovemeUK are sites which list solicitors
offering conveyancing services (a limited number
in each area). They charge £300 plus VAT for the first year and less for subsequent years.
Apart from that, there are no commissions or other fees involved.
The sites are owned and operated by Moveme Europe Limited.
Landlord-Law Online is a site set up
by solicitor Tessa Shepperson who also has a more conventional website
here.
She provides "packaged" advice to landlords and also to tenants.
There are documents and forms which can be filled in online, an extensive set of FAQ's
(based on real questions sent in to Tessa), an interactive "Tenancy Trail" allowing
tenants to find out what kind of tenancy they have and the implications of this,
a glossary of technical legal terms relating to this area and articles and explanations
generally. Part of the site is free but access to documents and more detailed information
requires a subscription of 50 for a year or 20 for 4 months.
Solicitors Property Shop - SPS - is an online estate
agency service for buying and selling property and also renting.
Through a network of solicitor estate agents firms across Yorkshire, Greater
Manchester and Lancashire, the Midlands, Wales and North-East England, SPS offers combined
legal and estate agency services to home movers. 57 solicitors firms are part of the service.
MyHome.ie is an Irish site with lots of properties advertised,
news and information about buying and selling property in Ireland, and
links to firms of solicitors and other professionals. One firm of solicitors says about it
"This is the leading Irish property website. It is a commercial directory of service providers and is widely
subscribed to. Most of Irelands estate agents have purchased listings as have many firms of architects,
surveyors and solicitors. It is also used to market properties and it is a resource used at all levels of the market."
It costs around 250 euros to have an entry on this site.
ReallyMoving.com is a site
attempting to provide everything that someone moving house needs to know - including
how to find houses, surveyors, solicitors, moving companies and just about anything
else. There are about 10 firms of solicitors associated with the project already
although the site does not say how much this costs. More information from
feedback@reallymoving.com.
Note to solicitors and others who are selling legal services from their web site - let me know
and I will add you to this list!
