As of May 9th, Context Ltd has changed its name to Justis Publishing Ltd. This
is just a name change - there is no change in ownership or structure. The
reason for the change is that many people have been confused by the fact that
the well known service Justis
www.justis.com is in fact provided by a company
of a different name!
Apart from this, there have been several other new developments recently in the
Justis service.
The first of these is the re-launch of the Justis user interface. Although the
service functionality has remained the same, several improvements have been
made to the appearance to enhance the user experience. For example, the
general navigation buttons across the top of the Justis screen have been
enlarged and simplified and the email, print and download buttons have been
moved closer to the document to enhance visibility.
The addition of a “Justis to JustCite” toggle button will allow users to switch from
one service to the other. For example, users can now switch from Justis case
reports directly to the relevant JustCite case outline. When users view the
document screen within Justis and click the toggle button they will be redirected
through to JustCite and will be able to view the relevant JustCite case
information page. Alternatively, when viewing any other page inside the Justis
user interface, clicking the toggle button will direct them to the main JustCite
search page.
We are also adding three CCH Tax Law Series available for subscription on
Justis.com in June 2005: British Tax Cases (Tax Cases 1875 - 1981, British Tax
cases 1982 - present), VAT cases (British VAT cases 1973 - present) and
Special Commissioners Decisions (1995 -present).
The CCH British Tax Cases is the reproduction of the full text of judgments
reported during the tax year in cases heard in the various courts, each with a
headnote outlining the facts, the decision and the reasons for the decision.
The British VAT cases is a collection of decisions of the VAT & Duties Tribunals.
It deals with appeals arising from decisions of HM Customs & Excise and also
matters relating to certain decisions of the Financial Services Authority.
The British Tax Cases, the VAT cases and the Special Commissioners
Decisions are fully cross referenced and can be searched together with other
Justis subscription titles such as the Law Reports and the Weekly Law Reports.
New for JustCite subscribers is the customisation of the JustCite full text links
so that subscribers can now stop their users from selecting services to which
they do not currently subscribe.
Another useful enhancement of the JustCite service is the JustCite search box.
This allows users to search the database from a convenient location such as
their intranet or desktop and is available to everyone, not just subscribers to the
Justis service. For those users that do not subscribe, using the search box will
provide, without charge, a brief overview of the information about the referenced
document.
Subscribers to the JustCite service are provided with a full detailed outline
including preceding and subsequent cases or legislation.
PS Despite the fact that the company's structure is unchanged, we do have new
email addresses - as below!
