Why this Journal is important:
The editor is Stephen Mason, Barrister, of St Paul's Chambers, Leeds. He is an expert on authentication, electronic signatures, e-business, e-mail, e-risks
and commercial law. See also his article in the November/December 2003 issue of the Internet Newsletter for Lawyers
here.
Subscribers to the newsletter will find a form to register for the Journal in the envelope, or
contact information@pariocommunications.co.uk.
The event is designed for lawyers in practice, in house or in the public sector
and most of the key suppliers of legal software are exhibiting.
There is also an extensive series of free keynote sessions concentrating on Case and Practice Management,
and particularly on how to manage and update the process. There are talks from Charles Christian, Julian Baker,
several of the key legal software suppliers, and a number of firms describing their experiences in implementing
and managing such systems.
You will resolve many legal IT issues by visiting Europe's legal exhibition, whatever your particular need.
You can register on the Legal IT 2005 site.
You will always find the address of the web version of the Newsletter on the
front of the printed version, in the left hand column - all subscribers are
welcome to use this!
I now offer a complete range of training materials - a Beginners Guide and
two sets of Advanced Studies. Each course involves printed material as well as
online sessions, using a passworded area of my website. You do these in your own time.
Each course can be purchased either in a single user version or in the
multiple user/intranet version, allowing everyone in the organisation to take
the course and obtain the CPD from the Law Society or the Bar Council. Very low
cost CPD - and good fun too! I update the courses every 3 or 4 months, both the printed
version and the online materials, so they are always current.
Price is £50 plus VAT for the single user licence and £100 plus VAT for the
Intranet/Multiple User version i.e. anyone in the organisation can use the material and
obtain the CPD hours.
If you have direct web access, there is information about the Guide and Tutorials
here.
Five Internet Studies for experienced Internet users exploring topics with legal
relevance. The Studies cover:
The Studies qualify for 5 CPD hours from the Law Society for England & Wales
under the "Distance Learning" category, i.e. the work can be done in your own time.
The Bar Council also accepts the Studies for 5 CPD hours.
Cost is £40 plus VAT for an individual licence or £100 plus VAT for an Intranet/Multiple Use
licence, i.e. anyone in the organisation can use the material and obtain the CPD hours.

You can take the two sets of Advanced Studies in either order - they cover different topics.
Cost is £40 plus VAT for an individual licence or £100 plus VAT for an Intranet/Multiple Use
licence, i.e. anyone in the organisation can use the material and obtain the CPD hours.
Usually, each set costs £40 plus £7 VAT but, if you buy both sets together, the total cost
will be only £60 plus £10.50 VAT. For the Intranet/Multiple Use licence for these
products, both sets together will cost £150 plus VAT instead of £100 each.
