    Electronic Signatures in Law
A new book by Stephen Mason, Barrister, St Paul's Chambers, Leeds.

Everybody uses their electronic signature every time they type their name into an e-mail, just as many millions of people use an electronic signature when they click on the "I Accept" icon on a web site to enter a contract. Most people are not aware that they are using an electronic signature virtually every day they use a computer in this way. Electronic signatures are not restricted to scanned or biometric manuscript signatures, or more complex digital signatures.

Most organizations rely on their computers and electronic communications for all their business, yet they do not fully understand the legal implications of using electronic signatures. Much of the legislation relates to digital signatures, which are complex and difficult to use. However, users should be more aware of the legal effects of the more commonly used electronic signatures, such as a name typed into the end of an e-mail.

Order your copy today by calling 020 8662 2000, or go to the LexisNexis site to order online.

The price is 110 but there is a special offer available until the end of July of just 88!

    Delia Venables' Training Materials

I now offer a complete range of training materials - a Beginners Guide and two sets of Advanced Studies. Each course involves printed material as well as online sessions, using a passworded area of my website. You do these in your own time. Each course can be purchased either in a single user version or in the multiple user/intranet version, allowing everyone in the organisation to take the course and obtain the CPD from the Law Society or the Bar Council. Very low cost CPD - and good fun too! I update the courses every 2 or 3 months, both the printed version and the online materials, so they are always current.

Beginners' Guide to the Internet for Lawyers

This consists of 2 parts - the initial "Guide" which you read in an armchair or on a train, and the "Tutorials" which you carry out seated at a computer with an Internet connection. CPD is available - 8 hours for the English Law Society, 8 hours for the Bar Council and 5 hours for the Scottish Law Society.
