"Internet Marketing", edited by Nicola Webb and published by the Law Society,
£34.95, is an excellent book for firms considering websites, intranets and
extranets, whether they are new to the field, or experienced - different readers
will concentrate on different sections of the book and skip the parts they already
know, or have no need to know. As well as discussing website development in
the context of a firm’s strategy and marketing plan, the book covers market
research, intranets, extranets, client relationship management, electronic
commerce, getting into the search engines and managing risks.

Developing a Portal for Your Law Firm is a 2-day Conference on 18th and 19th
June in London arranged by Ark Group with speakers from several major firms
as well as consultants Neil Cameron and Andrew Levison. A “portal” is a
bringing together of web site, intranet and extranet that supports lawyers, staff
and clients alike and is the latest “big thing” to hit law firms. What are the
practical, organisational, technical and financial implications of such a system?
There is also a post-conference workshop on 20th June.
