Sweet & Maxwell "Badger Alerter"

Sweet & Maxwell have launched a new Alerter current awareness service. Previously "Badger Alerter", which was free, the new Alerter has now been enhanced but is no longer free. Delivered via e-mail, it includes case law - important decisions and forthcoming cases; legislation - including the latest SI's; and quasi-legal material - 'grey paper', press releases and information from regulatory websites. Costs depend on size of firm, starting at £125 p.a. for a sole practitioner. Firms can register for a free 3 week trial at http://www.sweetandmaxwell.co.uk/online/alerter/aler.cfm.

Westlaw UK

Westlaw UK now includes a further 66 years of The Law Reports from the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting, now going back to 1881. Law reports originate from 1865, and the backdating programme will continue until that goal is reached. The service also features the full series of Lloyd's Law Reports, currently dating back to 1919.

There is also new Intellectual Property content, including Copinger & Skone James on Copyright, Kerly's Law of Trade Marks and Trade Names, and Terrell on the Law of Patents. These are fully searchable and fully integrated with relevant legislation and case law.
